What, and where, are you studying?
I’ve recently graduated from University of Wales, Newport where I was studying animation.
What are the best features about your institution?
For me, the best thing about studying at UWN was the freedom of creativity the course offered. This allowed me to experiment with numerous different techniques to help hone my individual style.

How would you describe yourself to a potential employer in ten words or less?
I’m a friendly, creative, passionate, driven, fast learner.
Which could you live without: Facebook or Twitter?
Both. I’m most happy with my head down in a workshop/studio, getting my creative juices flowing and my hands dirty (though Facebook can be useful sometimes).
What software do you use?
Dragon, Final Cut Studio, After-Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
How would you describe your style?
British, Cartoon, Comedy with a pinch of Drama. My main aim is to entertain.
If you had to show one piece of work to a potential employer what would it be?
John & Betty, my (and Alex Hancocks’) graduation film, as it’s the most finished piece of work I’ve produced to date. It perfectly encapsulates my style of both story-telling and design.

What websites do you visit daily to find inspiring new work or industry news?
Not necessarily daily, but I regularly visit Skillset and Imagine to see what jobs are out there, as well as Vimeo to find new and quirky films and animations.
What would your dream job in the industry be?
At this stage of my career, my dream job would be working as a model-maker for a top studio, where I can use my ingenuity and creativity to contribute and learn.
Name a fellow student or upcoming filmmaker who you think will be one to watch.
This is a tough one. I think 2011 was a great graduating year for Animation Newport, and there are a number of my fellow students who I feel will do really well and have great careers in film and animation.

Name one technology you couldn’t live without and why?
A good set of speakers, as I love music but can’t stand rubbish sound quality (not forgetting the computer they’re attached to).
What’s your idea of a good night out?
Pub, pool, laughs and a good jukebox.
